Kateryna Voinova: A Community Leader Driven by Love

Kateryna "Kate" Voinova was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine. With a law degree from the National Academy of Internal Affairs, she spent over 10 years working as a lawyer. However, after moving to the United States, she made a bold decision to leave her legal career behind and focus on helping others.

Now living in Austin, Texas, Kateryna works as a project manager in non profit field and dedicates much of her time to nonprofit work and volunteering. She has become a strong advocate for Ukraine and a leader in her local Ukrainian community, using her skills to organize events and initiatives that make a difference.

Helping the Community

Kateryna is passionate about supporting Ukrainian refugees and families adjusting to life in the U.S. She is part of the Texas4Ukraine initiative, which welcomes refugees, helps them settle. She also co-founded a Ukrainian school to teach children about their culture and language.

Kateryna partners with the Liberty Ukraine Foundation to organize fundraising events that directly support Ukrainian defenders. As the president of UNWLA Branch 147, she and UNWLA branch 147 members are leading cultural and humanitarian projects in Austin and San Antonio. She also co-manages online community groups and chats, connecting people and sharing resources.

On a national level, Kateryna serves as a Texas delegation co-leader for the American Coalition for Ukraine, advocating for Ukrainian support on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

Guided by Love

When asked about her motivation, Kateryna says, “I believe you can only do things if you are filled with love.” This belief drives her efforts to help refugees, support Ukrainian families, and raise awareness about the challenges Ukraine faces.

Through her leadership, Kateryna has brought people together to support Ukraine and strengthen the Ukrainian community in Texas. Her work proves that even one person can make a big impact by showing compassion and taking action.
